MRMR121 6001 LEGENDARY SHACK SHAKERS : AGRIDUSTRIAL LP+DLc 10.2014

A roots rock juggernaut from Nashville, TN, the Legendary Shack Shakers is a hot
-rodded foursome combining blues, rockabilly, country, and rock & roll into one manic
assemblage boasting all the gloriously explosive instability of an M-80. On this
record we hear guitarist Duane Denison (Hank III, Jesus Lizard), who plays with the
enthusiastic power of his predecessors, while drummer Brett Whitacre drives his kit
like it's a semi full of dynamite rolling down a steep hill with no brakes. Singer
Colonel JD Wilkes matches the mania of his bandmates, and with longtime bass man Mark
Roberts in tow, they deliver a disc packed with sizzling slabs of rock mayhem. Lim. to
500 copies, including a download card.

This is gonzo folk music, the kind of raise-the-rafters, boot-shakin' jump blues that
used to be banging out of juke joints all over the South in the late 1940s, but now
its burning into the earholes of a younger generation of Nashville kids, all looking
for music with deep roots and something to hang on to. Limited to 500 copies, incl.
a download code.
